CRN Community Event Funding

CRN provides $100–$2,000 in funding and promotional support for community members to make more diverse, fun, and inclusive events happen. Whether you are trying this for the first time or have mature experience, we look forward to your ideas!
Grants: $100–$2,000 (depending on scale and impact)
Intake: Rolling (response within 7–10 business days)
Types: Offline/Online, Arts & Culture, Public Welfare & Mutual Aid, Learning & Sharing, etc.
Considering unexpected situations, sports projects are not supported at this time
Support: Funding, physical materials, promotion
Eligibility:
Hosts must be Chinese and/or LGBTQ+ friendly (allies are welcome)
Events must be open to the public or a specific community subgroup (non-profit/non-commercial driven)
Comply with local laws and regulations, as well as the CRN Code of Conduct; venue safety and insurance self-check required
What We Look For (with weights)
Community Impact (30%): Target audience, inclusivity, long-term value
Feasibility (25%): Reasonable budget, controllable risk, clear timeline
Innovation & Diversity (20%): New formats/underserved groups
CRN Synergy (15%): Brand fit, volunteer participation potential
Amplification (10%): Media output, reuse, and replicability
Timeline
Submit Application → 48h Initial Screening → 7–10 Business Days Review → Result Notification → Contract/Reimbursement Guide → Event Execution → Deliverables Feedback (within 7 days)
Ineligible for Funding: Commercial activities with profit as the primary goal; high-risk/illegal content; highly exclusive events open only to an extremely narrow circle; events in conflict with CRN values
Reimbursement & Payment
Priority is given to "approval before reimbursement"; "partial prepayment" can be requested for major expenses (upon signing a simple agreement)
Required Documentation: Receipts/invoices, payment screenshots, bill of materials, contract (if applicable)
Unified Settlement Cycle: Submit complete materials within 7 days after the event ends, and payment will be disbursed within 15 calendar days
