Chinese Rainbow Network

Chinese Rainbow Network Inc. (CRN)—founded in 1996—is the largest overseas Chinese sexual minority organization, and the only registered non-profit organization in the United States specifically dedicated to the Chinese LGBTQIA+ community. Our mission is to build a better Chinese sexual minority community. For a long time, Chinese LGBTQIA+ members have been hiding in all corners of society due to various factors, facing pressure from society and families alone. CRN's original intention was to establish an all-around, multi-functional community platform, so that every sexual minority Chinese living in a foreign land can have a sense of belonging.

About Us

The Chinese Rainbow Network Inc. (CRN) was founded in 1996 by the members of the LGBTQIA+ community in North America. It is the largest community organization for Chinese sexual/gender minority outside of China. It is the only non-profit organization (NPO) registered in the United States that serves the Chinese sexual minority community. CRN’s mission is to build a better community for this group.

Many Chinese sexual minorities have been hiding in every corner of the society for various reasons. They face the pressure from both families and the society in isolation. CRN is to help them to cope by building a multi-functional community platform and to make every Chinese member feel at home while living overseas.
